Frequently asked questions
How do I book a photography session?
Bookings need to be made directly with the photographer. (Elisa Way)
You can either phone to discuss your requirements and agree a suitable date & time for you shoot, on 07584 296566 (during office hours only)
Or you can use the contact us form to send an e-mail.
All bookings require a deposit to be paid before a time or date is secured (if no deposit is paid, the session could still be taken by someone else, especially at busy times).
The deposit will be taken from the total amount of the session fee. (With the remaining balance being due on the day of the shoot)
Deposit for Mini sessions is £10 and for all other sessions is £20, which can be taken by paypal or bank transfer.
Where will my photoshoot take place?
This varies depending on the type of shoot.
Studio sessions take place either at my home studio or another local studio which I have the use of. (Both studios are located in Parkstone, Poole)
Both studio's are fully equipped and the choice of which studio will be used will depend on which type of session you have. My home studio is small, but perfect size for kids, babies & cake smashes. For families and other groups or themed shoots I will use the other studio location. Full information for the location of the studios will be given to you once a session has been confirmed and a deposit paid.
Location shoots can take place at various locations across Dorset & Hampshire and further afield subject to an additional charge for travelling expenses.
What's included in my session/package price?
All packages vary (Details for each type of package can be found on the information pages)
All packages contain a set number of digital images (no prints or products, unless specifically stated)
Each package includes the following within the price:
Some types of sessions may include additional items (i.e cakes for cake smashes), these will be detailed in the photoshoot information section.
What should I/my child(ren) where to the shoot?
I don't have any specific requirements for clothing for shoots, but I generally advise it best to wear clothes without bold designs or patterns as these will detract from the face in the image.
Plain/simple clothing is best.
Please feel free to discuss colours with the photographer prior to the shoot as colours will depend on what colour background is being used (i.e white clothing is not recommended on a white background).
What will happen to my pictures/images taken after the shoot?
After the shoot I will go through all of the images taken, firstly removing any images which are un-usable (i.e out of focus, bad crop, bad light, etc), these are deleted.
Then I will go through the photos again and select the best images for editing (depending on type of shoot & number of images taken on the day, this could be between 10 & 100), all other images will be deleted, so I am left with the best images from the shoot only.
These best images will then go through a process of light editing & re-touching. (This is not 'photoshopping' but a process where the digital images are 'developed' and minor changes are made to enhance colour, contrast, brightness, etc. )
They will then be cropped (if needed), and selected images converted to black and white.
I am happy to do light blemish removal & skin toning.
Other photoshop corrections can be done, but there is an extra charge - please discuss this with the phtotographer.
How long will it take to receive my images after the shoot?
I usually aim to send a sneak peak from the shoot (1-2 images) within 1-2 days. These will be low-resolution files with my logo on them, just for you to see what the images from the shoot are like. Please feel free to share these on your social media!
The rest of the gallery will usually be ready between 10 & 14 days after the shoot (although this could be slightly longer during busy times, but would not be longer than 21 days, unless under exceptional circumstances, in which case you would be contacted with an explanation and an estimated date for completion.)
What are digital images?
Digital images are photographs in a digital format supplied to you after the shoot that can be printed wherever you choose. (they are not physical prints & require a PC, Phone or Tablet to view, share or print)
All digital images are supplied with a print release allowing you to have them printed by any printing company you choose. (please see printing information below for advise on how/where to print)
Digital images can be supplied by e-mail, digital download, on a CD or on a USB (Additional charge for CD & USB)
All digital images are supplied in High-resolution Jpeg format for the best possible print quality (Please see print advise below)
How do we pay for our photography session?
All sessions require a deposit to be paid at the time of booking (this is £10 for mini sessions & £20 for all other sessions.) Deposits can be paid by Paypal or bank transfer.
The deposit is taken off of the total cost of the shoot, with the balance being due on the day of the shoot.
The balance can be paid by either cash, credit card or debit card.
Can you come to us for a photoshoot?
Absolutely! I have a full mobile studio set-up which I use for shoots at any location, either at someones house or other locations like events or halls. For use of the mobile studio a large clear space, with electrical outlets is required, please discuss this with the photographer to determine if you have a suitable space.
For some of my sessions I can come to you are any location and a studio set-up may not be required (e.g Fresh 48 baby shoot, christenings/parties, etc.)
Do you offer TFP (time for prints/pictures) shoots?
Yes, I do!
However, I currently have a small number of experienced models that I work with on a regular basis.
Occasionally I will ask for additional models if I require certain images for my portfolio/website or for a particular project. I advertise these model calls on my facebook page which can be found here, so it's worth giving it a like if you are interested in modelling for me.
Who owns the copyright for photos taken during my session?
Copyright for all images is retained by the photographer (Elisa Way)
A print release is provided with digital images stipulating what the purchased images can be used for - this includes, printing, sharing online, sharing with family & friends.
Cropping, manipulating or editing images is not permitted.
